Summer

Summer time is nearing and I'm so excited. I can't wait until school gets out. I will be a senior next year. One more year left and then I will be gone. Off to college I go. Junior year is getting stressful and out of hand. We have everything going on plus the school work and home work I have to do. I also work a job and my life is getting a little crazy now. I can't seem to get it together. No matter how hard I try, I always seem to go back a little farther instead of going forward at all. I'm just so stressed right now.

Henry

This is Henry. I put him as my background on my computer whenever I am sad. He somehow cheers me up and makes me feel better. He's just sooooo cute and I can't help but smile every time I look at him. I do random things to make me feel better. Right now, my background is a picture of me and my boyfriend. That picture makes me happy too. I just like to be happy and have a positive attitude and if pictures help, that's how I am happy. It's just the simple things that bring a smile to my face and joy to my heart.

Prom was GREAT!

Prom was great! It stopped raining right before prom and didn't start again until after prom ended. It was so nice. Thank you Jesus! I had a really fun night. My dress was very pretty and I loved my hair and make-up a lot too. My nails were beautiful too. All my jewelry went well with my dress too. I was excited and I had fun with my boyfriend, who also looked very nice. It was stressful before prom making sure everything got done, but it all worked out in the end. For dinner, we ate at Seth's grandmother's house. They cooked for us and set the table really cute. After prom, we went back there to watch movies and have snacks. It was so much fun. For me to sleep comfortably though, I had to take over 50 bobby-pins out of my hair. My hair was so pretty though. I absolutely loved it. We woke up the next day and had breakfast. I was a little on the sick side because of all the rain. I'm better now though. My pictures that I have are pretty too and I just wish I could look like that all the time.

Evansville

I finally convinced my parents to let me drive to Evansville. I'm going to a concert at Boney Junes and then to the mall to hopefully find some earrings and jewelry for my prom attire. I was extremely excited that I finally get to drive over there by myself. It is only 45 minutes away and I know that's not very far at all, but still the thought of being able to go by myself just makes me all warm and tingly on the inside. I am glad that my parents finally trust me enough to let me go alone now. My boyfriend is the only one who is going with me and I hope it is fun. I also don't know what I am going to eat while I'm over there. Since, I have my own money, I can buy the food that I want and put gas in the car and go places that I couldn't before. I'm so happy!

Macbeth

I like the play Macbeth but I just don't like the Shakespearean language. Its so hard for me to understand sometimes because of the way he worded things. Shakespeare's plays are so pretty and exciting, but I can't really get into them because I don't understand what half of it means. Freshmen year, we started Romeo and Juliet, and it wasn't that bad to understand. We also didn't finish that play either. Sophomore year, we read Julius Caesar and it was extremely hard to understand. We had quizzes on that after every reading too. It was very difficult. Macbeth is okay to understand at parts and going over what everything means helps a lot too. It lets me know what is being said. Also, I found this site on spark notes and it gives you the original text with the modern version right beside it. I used that this morning and it helped me a lot to know the significance of the quotes and to whom they were talking to directly.

Math...

So I finally have an A in math and I'm totally excited about this. I have worked so hard in math to bring it up. I also found a good way to review for math tests. I used to be one of those kids that didn't know how to study for math tests, but since I started struggling, I have figured out a good way to do it using the book and my notes. I am so happy because I have put a lot of effort into bringing my math grade up for not only me but my parents also. I maintain mostly an A average with maybe one or 2 B's, but I had a C in math and that just wasn't going to fly for me or them either. I worked and studied and did example problems and copied notes and did extra problems in the back of the book and memorized formulas and wrote notes over and over again. It has all payed off this far because I have an A now. I just have to keep up the hard work and keep the A that I have now, but I know I can if I keep trying the way I have been and don't let small problems and struggles get me down.

Sears

I finally got a job at Sears. I am a cashier and I work in the mens section. I work about 3-4 days a week after school and on the weekend. I hunted for a job all over spring break and I finally got an interview for sears. I had my second interview the very same day. and I got hired that day too. It was great. I was so proud of myself and everyone else was happy for me also. I finally have my own money and I can buy things that I want and I don't have to worry about my parents yelling at me for having to put gas in the car all the time. I can put gas in the car all by myself and they don't have to pay for it. That is a great feeling. I just love it and so do they.

Prom Dress

I got my prom dress over spring break. I got it from David's Bridal in Evansville. I think it is very pretty and my family likes it a lot. My boyfriend even likes it. It isn't anything big and flashy. It's just a simple dress that flows straight down. I didn't want a big, puffy dress that would get in my way all night and would weigh me down. I tried on one that had like 5 pounds of tool. My dress is black at top with these shiny diamond things. It does like a halter but goes around to the back and then laces a little and ties into a bow. Then, after the black, it flows into this deep purple color that lightens after a bit. Then it goes into blue that lightens and then purple again. My boyfriend is wearing a black tuxedo with a blue vest that will match the blue in my dress. I don't have a clue what kind of flowers I am getting. I still have about 2 weeks to decide. I'm excited though because it will be a fun night.

My Best Friend Jill...

Jill is the greatest. She's so smart (at math) , funny, and pretty. She is just soooooo nice too. :] She always wears the cutest outfits even when she doesn't feel good. Her make-up is beautiful and always look nice and clean. Jill helps me when I need help and she is also a good person to talk to when you are having problems. Jill ALWAYS has some food to eat when I get hungry. Lunch gets longer and longer away each day. She also has money to let you borrow because all she does is work at Haydens. Her car is cute too. She paid for it all by herself too so nobody can take it away. She is very independent and takes care of things by herself. I just love Jilly billy so much.

Green Dot Survey

This morning we participated in the Green Dot Survey. This survey was to see about violence and abuse during dating and unwanted sexual activity. It consisted of 100 questions. It is so sad to think that people I see everyday can be getting abused and hurt and I don't even know about it. People in these situations tend to hide their feelings and not show that something is even going on. They walk around and hide their faces and their bruises and no one stops to see what is a matter with them. I think that giving this survey could potentially help, but in the end it could also just cause more problems for all involved. It gives the victim a chance to at least think about what is going on in their life and maybe some possible solutions to get out of the relationship or situation. It also allows help to the victim and someone to talk to. It is a good outlet to express feelings that otherwise wouldn't be said because of fear. It allows the person to talk to at least one person other because the abuser isn't listening and obviously doesn't care.

Communication is key!

If there was one thing that keeps a relationship going, it is communication. If you don't talk and tell each other things, it probably isn't going to last very long. You are going to lose the spark and things will begin to dwindle away. When there is something wrong or you are upset with someone, tell them in a very calm tone and try to talk about it and work it out. Screaming and yelling doesn't help get your point across. It only makes the other person mad and chances are they won't listen to screaming and yelling. If you want the other person to do something, tell them or ask them nicely. Try to give each other compliments also. I was watching this Tyler Perry movie last night and it was so good. It was called Why Did I get Married? It talked about these 4 couples who go on vacation every year just to work on their marriage. To begin with, all the couples were fighting and one even got divorced, but she re-married. They worked out their differences calmly and eventually began to talk to each other and tell each other every thing. This made it a whole lot easier for their marriages.

Walk by Faith

Walking by Faith is harder than it seems,
You have to walk and believe
and listen when he calls and sings.

Jesus is the key that opens the door
so walk by faith
and you'll have much more.

I wrote this poem when I was about 8 years old. My daddy and I sat down and started writing it and we have remembered it ever since.

Likable

Ten things that I like about myself are:
1. I like my hair. It always smells good and it is neatly groomed each day.
2. My size. I'm not too little but not too big either. A happy medium.
3. My smile. I actually really smile. You see all my teeth and it is because I am happy.
4. My sense of style. I can take the most random things and somehow make it work together for me.
5. Handwriting. I used to write really neat and it took forever to finish anything, but now I've started writing differently. Its cool looking and it saves time.
6. Being able to understand. I understand many people's problems and that usually means I can help them in one way or another.
7. Creativity. I like to decorate things. If everything was plain, the world would be boring.
8. Organization. This will help me in the future because I make to-do lists and I get most everything completed in time.
9. Eyes. They are very different and change colors all the time.
10. Car. Its cute and girly and just makes me happy.

First...

The first person I would call if something happened or I was crying and upset would be Seth. Seth is my boyfriend. I know that if I needed him that he would be there to help me through anything. Sometimes I get stressed out and the only thing that helps me feel better is to just talk and cry. He is the one who listens to what I have to say and he makes me feel better about everything that I am going through. I talk and write down my feelings all the time. I have little notes all over everything. It helps me to concentrate on what I have to do and all I have done. Seth also helps me to get everything that I need to get done finished.

Fashion Statements

There have been many people lately that have been making fashion statements. They do this through the way they fix and color their hair. They all have different kinds of hair with many different styles. They spike it up or it is pin straight. They color it bright red or dark purple. This is attention catching. People notice these things because the bright colors stand out or the spiking is very high up. Everyone these days tries to get noticed because they are too afraid to be themselves. They don't want to be themselves because they think people won't except them the way they are. They need to stop hiding behind the crazy fashions and just be themselves. People will be more apt to notice that instead of all different colored hair or crazy clothing.

Life Lessons

1. Don't eat yellow snow! -Paul Gatewood
2. A lot of people are like slinkies, their good for nothing, but they make you laugh when you push them down the stairs.
3. If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.
4. Things aren't always as bad as they seem, look around, somebody always has it worse.
5. Don't try to break up a fight between 2 brothers because then they will both turn on you.
6. Don't tell a catholic noun to "go to hell, i've tried it you wont like it".
7. Never say your kids won't ever do that because just as soon as you do, they will.
8. Never take your spouse for granted.
9. The grass may look greener on the other side, but when you get there, you will have to mow it too.
10. If something sounds or looks to good to be true, it probably is.

Boredom

One thing you can always tell is when someone around you is bored. They give many hints and clues letting you know that they want to do something because of their boredom. One way to tell someone is bored is they constantly move and are all jittery. They can't seem to sit still for longer than 5 seconds. These are the kind of people who usually become annoying to me after a short period of time. A second way to identify a boredom person is they drift in and out of sleep. They are the ones with their head lowering and then raising suddenly because someone made a sudden loud noise. This could be described as Taylor McFadden. A third way to tell is their expression. They have this emotionless expression as if they aren't thinking about anything. This is typical of a person not paying attention in class. The last way to see that someone is bored is by the way they constantly avoid doing what they are supposed to be doing. They open their laptops to do homework, but somehow end up playing games. The thought of homework makes them bored.

Beating DC!

Last night was the first night of the boy's district basketball action. We played Daviess County. We previously lost to them twice in regular season play. We finally pulled out a victory to advance to the championship game of the district tournament. We beat them 44-41. Our team played really good last night and we actually played together. I believe another thing to that led to our victory was we didn't let our mistakes get to us. We just shook them off and got our head back in the game. I think winning this game boosted our attitudes and will make us fight even harder to win the district championship. They will want it more than they ever did, especially the seniors. It will give them something to remember that was special and happened during their senior year. Hopefully we will beat either Owensboro or Owensboro Catholic to win district and advance and go farther on in the tournament. Good Luck Guys!

Chickens...

There are many reasons for the chicken to cross the road...
1. To get to the other side.
2. The dog was after him.
3. He was tired of being on that side so he moved.
4. To help his neighbor.
5. Because he was hungry.
